Support for inclusion that lasts
Inclusion that changes things starts with seeing people, building out believing in them, embracing the unique assets and talents of every individual.
For 45 years, we’ve done exactly that. From raising Jen to Sue and Jen co-founding DanceSyndrome, a multi award-winning charity led by people with intellectual (learning) disabilities founded on inclusion with an ethos of equity and respect.
Whatever your sector, you can bring that experience into your organisation. Some routes are delivered by us, through Powering Possibilities CIC. Others are delivered by DanceSyndrome. This page helps you find the right one for you.

"You’ve captured something vital here—that real inclusion isn’t a program or initiative you implement, it’s the air an organization breathes...That’s the shift that matters: moving from seeing people with learning disabilities as problems requiring special solutions to understanding them as individuals with distinct languages, passions, and contributions that enrich everyone involved."Dennis Pitocco, BizCatalyst 360

Keynote talks - from the Blackwells
Sue, Jen and Malcolm share the story of a family who were told to expect nothing and chose to build something extraordinary instead. Talks are shaped for your audience, whether business leaders, health and social care professionals, educators, or parents and carers. Your audience leaves asking the question at the heart of our work: who are you missing?

Performances and energisers — from DanceSyndrome
Open or lift your event with a performance by DanceSyndrome's dancers, or get everyone on their feet with a mass-participation energiser led by Dance Leaders with learning disabilities. A session your audience will feel as well as remember.
“Easily one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.”
with your request

Many organisers book both: a keynote from the Blackwells, with a DanceSyndrome performance or energiser to open or close the day.
For leaders and organisations
We help your leaders and teams think differently about inclusion. We let your team experience it. Both are necessary for change in any business or organisation in any sector.
Dr Noelle Blackman, Drama Therapist“To feel things and then talk about them is very different to just cognitively thinking about things.”

Inclusive leadership sessions — from Powering Possibilities CIC
Half-day sessions for leadership teams and boards in any sector. Sue and Malcolm draw on 45 years of family experience and Malcolm's 35 years leading international businesses. Together you'll look at culture, decisions and the people your organisation may be missing, and leave with practical steps to build inclusion in from the start.

Inclusion in Action — from DanceSyndrome
An experiential workshop co-delivered by DanceSyndrome's Dance Leaders, people with learning disabilities who lead. Your team experiences inclusive practice first-hand, then reflects on how it applies to their own work. DanceSyndrome has delivered Inclusion in Action to 180 NHS mental health ward managers through an NHS England leadership programme.
can help your team act differently

The two could fit together as a full day: a half-day leadership session to rethink how your organisation approaches inclusion, and a half-day Inclusion in Action workshop to help put it into practice.

Become a community Dance Leader

Dance by Example— from DanceSyndrome
Training accredited by the Leadership Skills Foundation, for people with and without learning disabilities. Grow in confidence, and learn how to plan and co-lead inclusive community dance sessions. It's the same route Jen's Dance Leader colleagues have taken, and the reason DanceSyndrome exists: when Jen wanted to train as a dance leader, there was no course open to her.
